📋 Job Summary
A Home & Personal Care Assistant provides essential support to individuals—often elderly, disabled, or recovering from illness—helping them maintain independence and dignity in their own homes. This role combines personal care, companionship, and light household assistance.
🧑⚕️ Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily living activities: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding
- Support mobility needs: transferring between bed and chair, walking assistance, physical therapy routines
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor health conditions
- Prepare nutritious meals based on dietary restrictions and preferences
- Perform light housekeeping: laundry, dishes, vacuuming, and general cleaning
- Provide companionship and emotional support through conversation and activities
- Escort clients to appointments, errands, or social outings
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report changes in health or behavior
🎓 Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification in Personal Care Assistance or Home Health Aide (preferred)
- CPR and First Aid certification (often required)
- Clean background check and valid driver’s license (if transportation is involved)
